Prof. Pierre Escourrou holds a Doctorate in Medicine (Paris XI, 1979), a CES in Cardiology (1980), and a Doctorate in Human Biology, specializing in Physiology (Paris XI, 1987). He also obtained an Habilitation to Direct Research (Paris XI, 1987), and has European Certification in Sleep Medicine (ESRS, 2014), as well as a DIU in “Sleep and its Pathology” (Paris XI, 2019). 

He served as a Professor of Physiology at the Faculty of Medicine, Kremlin-Bicêtre, University Paris Sud Saclay from 1990 to 2019 and continues as an honorary professor since 2019. Additionally, he was a Hospital Practitioner and Head of the Department at Hôpital Béclère, APHP (1980-2019). Currently, he is a Somnologist at CIS Centre Interdisciplinaire du Sommeil, Paris 15, since 2019. 

Prof. Escourrou is an active member of several prominent organizations, including the Société Française de Cardiologie, the Société de Pneumologie de Langue Française, the Société Française de Recherche et Médecine du Sommeil, the European Respiratory Society, the European Sleep Research Society, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and the European Sleep Apnea Data Network (ESADA).
