Dr. Eduardo de Vito obtained his Medical Doctor (1979) and PhD in Medicine (1993) from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). In 1984, he co-founded Argentina’s first Pulmonary Laboratory for Respiratory Muscle and Neuromuscular Disease Research. He further advanced his expertise as a Fellow at Meakins-Christie Laboratories, McGill University, Canada (1991-92).
Dr. de Vito served as Head of Pulmonology and Director of the Lanari Institute at UBA (2010-2017). A distinguished researcher and educator, he has supervised five doctoral theses, authored 27 book chapters, and published over 190 papers in national and international journals, with a particular focus on the respiratory management of neuromuscular diseases.
Currently, he is a Full Professor of Internal Medicine at UBA, Director Santa Catalina, Parque Campus, and an Editorial Board member of Revista Medicina (Buenos Aires). He also serves as a peer reviewer for international journals and leads multiple research projects.
Recognized for his contributions, Dr. de Vito has received 22 congress awards and the UBA Excellence in Research Award (2018). Since 2022, he has been a guest faculty member and researcher at the Public University of Navarra, Spain, and an Associate Researcher at Navarrabiomed, UPNA, Pamplona, Spain.
