BIOGRAPHY

Ofer Jacobowitz MD PhD FAASM is an internationally recognized expert in obstructive sleep apnea and rhinology. He is the co-director of sleep at ENT and Allergy Associates, the largest ENT group in the USA and is a clinical professor at Northwell/Hofstra University. He has been a researcher in hypoglossal neurostimulation for over a decade. He conducts research on OSA, nasal obstruction and consults for new technologies. He is a co-director of a sleep surgery international fellowship. 

Dr Jacobowitz is a fellow and chair of the Sleep Committee of the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. He is a member of the governing council, chair of the sleep-disordered breathing guidelines committee and former secretary of the World Sleep Society. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Sleep medicine and past chair of the sleep-related breathing disorders section. 

Dr Jacobowitz chaired the 2019 International Surgical Sleep Society’s meeting and regularly presents in academic venues around the world. He has authored many peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters and is the chief editor for the 2025 textbook “Sleep Apnea and Snoring”. 

Dr Jacobowitz is a graduate of MIT and the Mount Sinai School of Medicine’s MD PhD, Medical Scientist training program.
